Beth Morgan

BETH: (standing up, watching Chase watch her): Sorry, Chase, I didn’t mean to knock you down. It’s just that…Danny and I are fighting. Again. It seems like that’s all we ever do anymore. Anyway, he and I are over now. He was okay when we were younger, but now that we’re seniors, I need someone more mature. Smarter. Someone like you. Don’t look at me like that, please. I know what you’re thinking. Why would a girl like me need anything other than the captain of the football team? But the truth is, I’m so unhappy. My parents are never around, my boyfriend – ex-boyfriend – is a jerk, and the one guy I really want to be with doesn’t even know I’m alive. You. And I don’t know how to fix that. I mean, I knew need to make an effort to get what I want, but with you it’s like no matter what I do, you don’t notice me. It’s so…frustrating. I have no idea how to get through to you! I just…I don’t understand you! You’re a complete puzzle to me. Everything you do…you have this way of doing it. Like, like you know that one day people like Danny are going to be working for you. You’re almost cocky in a charming sort of way. And for some reason, I’m strangely attracted to you. I don’t think I really want to be, but I am. Ever since I saw you in eighth grade. I like you, Chase Caulfield, I like you a lot. And if you don’t like me, I understand, really I do. If you say so, I’ll walk away and never speak to you again. I swear I will if that’s what you want. But, please, Chase, just tell me this: Do you like me too?

  1. The Wizard of Oz is definitely a classic movie. Even in today's world, it's been remade over and over, and then into the WIZ, and then into WICKED. I love the classic "If I Only Had A Brain". Definitely my favorite song from that movie.
